When you are walking down a lonely path,
Wondering why things happened as they did,
Just remember you do not walk alone
Beside you walks one who knows:
Why a sparrow falls!
Why the sun stays in place!
Why the earth revolves!
Why your heart is broken!
Why you need a friend!

Let’s look in on the road to Emmaus
Two men walked sadly alone
Not able to understand
All the things that happened that day.
But they did not walk long alone.
Joined by one who explained the reason,
One who went to the scriptures
The only true believable source,
For the answer to all that occurred.

HIs spirit still walks beside us
More surely He lives within
So we need only seek Him
Ask Him to give us true wisdom
And with it, understanding also.
That as we seek His guidance daily,
Our feet will not go astray.
As the answer comes through
From the one and only true way.
