I Would, BUT

I would, BUT
Grandma would disapprove!
Why would Grandma disapprove?
As much as I appreciate the love and respect shown by that remark, in the final judgment, it does not matter what grandma does or does not approve of in your life. What pleases or displeases God, our Heavenly Father, that does matter.
Let’s examine this more closely. Why does grandma disapprove of: sensuality, alcoholic beverages, tatoos, foul language, lewd behavior, idle hands, witchcraft, magic, fornication, idolatry, strife, heresies, and lasciviousness?
Could it be because these actions are not becoming for a child of God but are the works of the flesh, and the devil, which is the enemy of God?
Galatians 5: 14-26; Ephesians 4:17-32; James 1: 19-22 and many other scriptures admonish us to follow the Lord and not the desires of self (the flesh).
James advice is to get rid of all immoral behavior and all the wicked habits or practices and accept the word of God which can save our soul. Be doers, practicing God’s word every day of our life. We must strive (work at) being holy and sanctified unto the Lord because we belong to Him.
Could it be because Grandma desires a life for you of holiness unto the Lord which will gain you joy and peace now and eternal life forever? Your life should be lived to please God, for if we truly love God, we trust Him and obey His word.
Come out from among them and be separate!
The carnal mind is the enemy of God!
Be holy as I am Holy, says the Lord!
The carnal mind is death, separation from God!
But! How do I know what pleases God?
In the beginning, in the Garden of Eden, God gave instructions to Adam and Eve. "Do not eat of the trees in the midst of the garden!”
One was the tree of Life! One was the tree of knowledge of good and evil!
When Adam and Eve chose to eat of the tree which Satan pointed out to them, they became aware of what pleased God and what did not please Him. Why do you think they hid themselves when they heard God coming? They died a spiritual death, just as God told them. They also brought physical death into the world. But God had a plan! Genesis 3:15. He would send His only begotten Son as a Redeemer, Savior, for fallen man. When we repent of our sins, we are “born” again, made spiritually alive to God. We are restored to the Eden experience in part, a new relationship with our Creator, Father, and God. So we can bring forth fruits of the Spirit, fruits of righteousness in our life. Galatians 5:22-26,

So, yes, keep Grandma (and the Lord) happy by walking with God, keeping your relationship strong with your heavenly Father.

Be holy as He is holy!
