“Christ in me the Hope of Glory”

As I stand beside the still blue waters
Of the lake hidden among the trees,
I can see an image along the shoreline.
Reflected on the liquid canvas
Are the trees, the rocks, the hills,
A mirror image of the scene before me.

I pause to think for a moment
Of my life here on this earth.
As I make this earthly journey
Through each day of toil and strife,
Do I reflect His mercy and His light?
Or do people see in me a selfish life?

Lord, may I reveal to those around me
The one who is my friend.
He who redeemed my soul from evil,
And cleansed my life from sin.
May I reveal my Savior,
Show His mercy, love and grace.

May I tell the old, old story
Of my Father’s grace and glory,
As my path will join anothers
For a moment or an extended time.
May the life they see me living
Be a true reflection of the Christ who lives within.

As I make my journey day by day
May I reflect my Savior in all I do and say.
By the power of the Holy Spirit
To whom I give complete control.
May I reflect His mercy, love and grace
Until the day I see my Savior face to face.
