Before the era of electronics, children used to engage in a game called “Hide and seek”. I can remember many times when the numerous neighbor children, my sisters and I would play this game for hours at a time. When our Dad moved the family to a city in Idaho, I was eight years old. With five siblings younger than I, this was a game we could all play, either inside our house or when weather permitted, we played outside. On our property was a huge barn which provided many ‘neat’ places to hide where we could remain undetected for a long time. When opportunity arose, and the person who was ‘it’ was not looking, we could run to the ‘base’ and call out ‘free’.
I think about the sins which we commit against God. Our sins can remain undetected by our friends and family for a long time, and even denied by us. But the scripture tells us, ‘be sure your sins will find you out’. Nothing remains hidden from our God. His eye is ever upon us, and he knows even the intent of our hearts. Our loving Father does not want us to ‘hide’ in our sins, or from them. He has made a way for us to be free from our sins and the bondage in which we are ensnared. Our Father loved us so much that He sent His only Son to pay the debt of sin, which we owed, by His death on Calvary. His blood purchased our redemption.
We can escape the punishment of sin, which is death, for the wages of sin is death. We must accept the ‘free’ card and gain eternal relationship with our Father, eternal life through Jesus Christ. His Word tells us ‘they that seek me early shall find me’. The Prophet Isaiah tells us: Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. The wise man, Solomon, tells us: I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. He also tells us: For whoso finds me finds life, and shall obtain favor of the Lord.
The childhood game of ‘hide and seek’ provided many fun-filled hours. There comes a time when we must accept the responsibility for our choices, our actions, and our life. That time is now, for this is the day of salvation. We must not put off the decision, for we all face the question, “What will you do with this man, Christ Jesus?” There is no safe place to hide.
Seek Him while He may be found!!

If thou be wise, thou shall be wise for thyself; but if you scorn, thou alone shall bear it.
