The Greatest Gift

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes on Him shall have eternal life”, John 3:16

The love of God is greater far, than any tongue can ever tell!

We are about to celebrate the birth of this greatest gift to man, The Only Begotten Son of God.
He came to give His life that those who receive Him shall have eternal life.

Have you opened this most important gift?  We rush to open our gifts from family and friends, but this gift of love and life is often left unopened, tucked away on a shelf for a later time, when we ‘really need it’. Though it is a celebration of His birth, all thoughts are turned away to the
‘idols’ of this world.  Yes, idols!  The world has usurped the season, filling it with things which have no relevance to the Christ Child who came into this world to save us from our sins.  What did the angel speak to Mary?   Read Matthew 1, 2 and Luke 1, 2. What did the angels tell the Shepherds?  “Unto you this day is born a Savior, which is Christ the Lord”.

Are we worshipping our Savior, or spending our time on the things, the traditions of this world, and ignoring Him?  Traditions may be good, family fun, but we must NOT ignore the Greatest Gift sent from our Heavenly Father to open the door that we might be able to come into His presence.  That door is Jesus Christ, who came to give us the gift of eternal life as He gave His life on the cross at Calvary.  Please, examine your traditions.  Are you spreading the false reasons for this season, which we have dedicated to the birth of the Christ, the Son of God?

Or do we go along with the worldly teaching, traditions, which have no part of the truth?

When you fully realize the great blessings of asking the Lord of Lords into your life, you will have the life that God intended for His creation to possess.  After all, isn’t that the reason He sent us His Son, who became our Savior, our Redeemer, and “the one who sticks closer than a brother”,  Christ, the gift of eternal life, for all who believe, (hold on to, cling to, fully trust in) and open your heart to receive this personal gift from God.

Someone has said, “There is no time like the present to open this great present”.
