Where did Faith go?

Faith, what is it and where did it go?
Many words in our language are hard to find a definition that will express what they are meant to tell.  One such word is FAITH.  This is a word which is of most importance to us, yet we fail to understand just exactly what the word ‘faith’ means or how we can possess “Faith.”
Faith:
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen 3: through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.  Verse 6: but without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
God gives to us all a measure of faith.  Jesus spoke of the great faith of the woman who came to him to be healed... He rebuked the disciples for having so little faith…. He told of the one who had such great faith...and He asked the people, “How is it that you have no faith?”
In Luke 18:8 Jesus said:” shall I find faith when I return?”
Luke 8:25, Where is your faith?
Mark 4:40 why do you have no faith?

 What is Faith?
To me FAITH is BELIEVING, Expecting, receiving, what we cannot see.How often do we say, “The wind is blowing” but we cannot see the wind. We see the effects, the results of the presence of the wind.  SO it is with faith…we cannot see, touch, smell faith. But we can see the results of our faith.  The evidence is there.
We see the lives that are changed by receiving Christ into their hearts.  Lives are changed when the Savior comes into the open heart.
God works in mysterious ways:  We do not know how but we can know when we have been changed from a sinner into a child of God.  Just as a blind man can know when his eyes were opened and his sight restored. Just as the leper who was covered with sores could know the moment he was free from the disease.  Just as the lame man could leap up and praise the Lord when he was made whole.
So, FAITH is the tangible, substance, of what we HOPE for.  Hope is faith for today!
Because of the past miracles God has done, because we have seen what has happened, we can say we have faith because what we hoped for has taken place.
Jesus did many miracles, the apostles continued to do miracles, early Christians worked wonders in their time, even in the not so distant past, I can tell of miracles which I witnessed, things which could not have happened except through the faith of the people hoping for a miracle from God.  God has not changed; it is people who have lost faith.  We began to put our faith in other things, tangible things, like money or man.
Faith was substituted for Works.
There is no substitute for FAITH.  We read in Heb. 11:6 without faith it is impossible to please God.  Not works, not fellowship, not people, can take the place of our faith.
Faith is the evidence of the things we hope  for! It is necessary for us to receive that which we hope for….eternal life with our Lord and Savior.
Faith will help us reach that goal.
Faith will sustain and keep us in the hard times.
Think of the men of old, Joseph, Noah, Abraham, Paul, Peter, All those who gave their lives for what they believed... and not only during the Bible times...Today men and women are standing for their faith even unto death. Faith did not always change their circumstances, but Faith did take them through the trial.

Faith in God can move a mighty mountain, calm a troubled soul, heal a broken heart, and make a body whole.
God will withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly before Him. Jesus came to restore the relationship between our Father and mankind.  You and I can have faith again, Faith to move evil from our life. It is our God given choice!  Reach out in Faith tonight, you will not be disappointed.
