In
Matthew 16:5-12 there is a story of Jesus and the disciples going across a sea.
When they got to the other side they realized they had forgotten to take bread
with them. In Mark 8: 14 it says they
had one loaf of bread. This was obviously
not enough for all of them.
When
Jesus told them to be ware of the leaven of the Pharisees, they immediately
thought of their natural bodies, and began to talk among themselves, wondering
if he meant to chastise them for not remembering the bread. It is important to examine doctrine and try
the spirits.How typical of humans!
When things go wrong, or we are given some good advice, we immediately think of our natural body. We claim the blessings of God as if He is always referring to our natural life. Christ is far more interested in our spiritual condition.
When
Jesus heard them ‘reasoning among themselves’ He said, O ye of little faith!
In
other words, why do you still doubt?
Doubt id indecision, or undecided.
When we question the power of God, we are doubting His promise and
ability.Jesus asked, Do you not understand? Don’t you remember?
I
believe these are the two reasons we have doubt.
1.
We have not really understood the mission the Lord has for us.Like the disciples, we think only in the present---NOW
2. We fail to remember the things he has already done in our lives.
Hadn’t they recently seen Jesus feed the
five thousand with two loaves of bread and four thousand with seven
loaves? How soon we forget what the Lord
has done for us daily,
When
we finally realize that our salvation is not about the natural man, but Jesus
came to save the soul of anyone who would call upon His name. Then, when we have received Him into our heart, and His blessings come to us every day, we can rejoice in all things. Psalms 126
Praise
Him for deliverance from sin.
Praise
Him for the breath you take each day.Praise Him for the rain, the sunshine, the snow and the cold He sends our way.
Praise Him that you have more than enough to sustain your life.
Praise Him Because HE IS GOD!!!
