Psalms 1, TREES

Lord, as the tree responds to the sun
Green leaves come forth in spring time
Blossoms precede the harvest
Of fruit upon her boughs.
Let my soul reflect the love
Shine forth the fruit of the Spirit,
When watered from above
With the blessings of your love.

Lord let my roots go deeper
Within your fertile soil,
That when the storms of life
Create a thunderous gale,
I may quiver before the blast,
But still remain secure and tall,
Anchored in the sure foundation
Of God’s own Holy Word.

The stormy winds may buffet,
Against the strong and sturdy tree,
All that is affected are the dead
Lifeless branches, leaves and moss,
This only helps the purest growth
Become stronger than before,
Creating greater beauty, fruit and shelter
To all who seek a refuge there.
